All or Nothing: My 30-Day Digital Income Challenge After Losing My Job

Five months into my new job, I was unexpectedly let go—told I wasn’t the right fit, that I didn’t have the skills they needed.

After 20 years of building my career, it shattered me. Now I have 30 days of income left, and one shot to prove to myself (and maybe to you) that digital income is possible, even when the stakes are sky-high. I’m not starting from zero—but I am starting from survival mode. This blog post marks Day 1.

A woman stands at a crossroads with signs for ‘All’ and ‘Nothing’, symbolizing the start of a 30-day digital income challenge after job loss.
All or Nothing – Facing the Digital Business Turning Point

I didn’t see it coming. Not like this.

Let me be clear: I’ve never seen people let go like this. I’ve seen plenty of dismissals in my career, and people leave because they didn’t like the company, but I’ve never seen someone let go just before probation ended unless it was something major—legally wrong, ethically unfit, or completely unprofessional. I did none of that.

What I was told was this: “You’re not a good fit. You don’t have the skills we need at this level.”

I was five months into the new role. It felt like a rug being pulled from beneath me. And honestly? It crushed me.

They said I was talented, just “not right for the team.” They said I wasn’t skilled enough to earn what I was earning—despite earning at that level successfully across multiple organisations before them. That comment hit deep.

It messes with you, you know? When someone tells you that your decades of hard-earned expertise don’t count. When they say you’re not worth that salary. That you’re not enough.

I’m not here to name names or spill company tea. This isn’t about bitterness. It’s about what happens when everything you thought was secure is suddenly stripped away—and you’re left sitting in a quiet house with nothing but your thoughts, a browser full of tabs, and a dream you weren’t ready to give up on.

I’ve Been Dabbling for Years—Now It’s All In

I’ve always kept one foot in the digital world—building, creating, selling, experimenting. It was aligned with my day job and helped me improve my skills so I tended to have a side hustle here, a digital product there. I learned funnels. I explored faceless marketing. I wrote strategies for others, but never fully went all in for myself.

Now I have only 2 choices – go backwards to the corporate world and rebuild my reputation OR go all in here.

The weirdest part? Just a few weeks ago, I started getting the vibe that something was off at work. Subtle signs. Slight distance. Gut instinct. So I ramped things up behind the scenes – “just in case”. I worked on my blog. Perfected and launched products. Built tools. When everything started crashing online – I fought through tech issues, web hosting disasters, and plugin errors because I was determined not to give up yet. I knew one day what i learn could pay off – and now I’m really glad I did.

What Now? I Have 30 Days of Income Left.

That’s it. I’ve been paid out four weeks’ worth of salary. After that, the safety net vanishes. And it’s not just me. It’s my home. My partner. Our future.

This is my shot to build something that keeps us afloat—not in theory, not one day, but right now.

So I’m doing something bold (and terrifying):

If I can’t do it? I’ll have to step back into the job market—into roles that chip away at my health, my time, and my energy. Roles I’ve outgrown. Roles that don’t value what I bring to the table.

But if I can?

Then this becomes the proof. The blueprint. The first brick in the foundation of something entirely different. Even if it achieves half of what my family needs to survive – that’s the difference between desperately taking any bad job I can to pay the bills vs being able to do something I would like (even for less money).

My Plan: Cash Now, Growth Later

Here’s what I’m building this month—and how I’m planning to hit $8,000:

  • Freelance Gigs: I just launched my SEO blog writing gig. It’s real strategy, not fluff. Think: rank-ready posts that actually convert. And there are other platforms I can market my services on for some quick cash to keep us going. (eg: Fiverr or Upwork)
  • The Invisible Income Method: This $37 ebook is a deep-dive digital roadmap for anyone wanting to build passive faceless funnels without all the noise. I’ve been refining this for months since i got the idea to share what I’ve been learning over the years.
  • Digital Products: Small digital products – ebooks on traffic strategies, Etsy products, Canva templates, branding kits, starter bundles—ready to use and faceless-friendly.
  • Stealth Funnel Course (Coming Soon): Bite-sized, checklist-style course for anyone who wants a stealth funnel that works quietly in the background. With the literal step by step, how to build everything from the ground up. (pretty much documenting the steps I’m doing now).
  • Blog + SEO: I’m publishing high-quality content on misskdigital.com to bring in long-term, organic traffic.
  • Daily TikToks & Pinterest Pins: I’ll be showing what I’m doing, what’s working, and what totally flops.
  • Investigating new traffic sources like faceless YouTube channels. This is the step by step Tube Mastery Course I’m looking at.

And honestly? Everything online changes so much so quickly, I’m still learning as I go.

Week 1 Focus: Show People What I’ve Got

Week 1 is all about traffic.

  • Pushing free tools (like my ChatGPT swipe file and stealth funnel quiz) to show people what I’ve got and how it can help them.
  • Promoting the Fiverr gig
  • Sending targeted pins and TikToks directly to product links
  • Getting eyes on the Invisible Income Method
  • Laying the foundation for daily updates, so people can watch it unfold in real-time

This isn’t about polished perfection. It’s not about pretending I’ve got it all figured out.

It’s about momentum. About showing up and stacking quiet digital dollars while everyone else chases viral trends.

Want to Watch a Digital Business Get Built From Zero?

This is your front-row seat.

No gatekeeping. No polished guru routine. Just real effort, real work, and real stakes. I’ll be posting small updates here and on social—sharing wins, breakdowns, weird bot messages, and behind-the-scenes lessons as I go.

Maybe it works. Maybe it doesn’t.

But I’d rather go all in than go back to something that slowly breaks me.

If you’re curious about digital income—and how it actually gets built—follow along. I’m not promising a miracle. I’m showing the mess and the magic of trying anyway.

Quiet work. Real results. You’ve got this.
